Ljubljana, 29 April - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 30 April:
LJUBLJANA - Bonfires will be lit on hilltops across Slovenia as the traditional festivities on the eve of May Day get underway. The biggest event, organised by the Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS), is to begin at the Roznik hill in Ljubljana at 6 PM. The list of speakers includes ZSSS president Dusan Semolic and General Secretary of the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF) Peter Scherrer.
NEW YORK, US - A delegation of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning is to attend a session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) that is to be underway until 11 May.
DAKAR, Senegal - A five-day conference of the signatories of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants is also to be attended by a Slovenian delegation.
KRSKO - The Association of Slovenian Environmental Movements and French NGO Reseau Sortir du Nucleaire are to speak at a press conference at noon about their stance on a possible construction of a second reactor at Slovenia's sole nuclear power plant at Krsko. A panel on the issue is scheduled for 4 PM.
