Exports up 7.4% in May
Ljubljana, 7 July - Compared to the same month last year, exports this May increased by 7.4%, and compared to the same period last year, exports recorded during the first five months of 1992 were greater by 1.4%, reported the Central Bureau of Statistics. Exports, on the other hand, were 11.2% smaller in May this year, compared to May 1991; and during the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year, the decrease in exports amounted to 25.1%. The balance of exports for the first five months this year was recorded at 1,684 million USD, and the balance of imports amounted to 1,436 million USD.
Exports to the convertible currency markets increased by 8% this May and by 5.7% during the first five months of this year. Imports during the same month, though, decreased by 9.1%, and during the first five months of this year, a decline of 22.7% in imports was recorded.
