An unofficial pre-election campaign began on Thursday in the Križanke Summer Theater in Ljubljana where the opposition parties presented their candidates for the office of the president. The government refused to negotiate about the higher purchase price of wheat, Premier Drnovšek protested with the Croatian government because of the introduction of import taxes and limitations on import of certain goods. Journalists were presented with the Tomšič awards once more, perhaps for the last time. Slovenia was formally included into the Phare program and Premier Drnovšek signed the CSCE Final Chart from 1975 in Helsinki.
