* LJUBLJANA - The government is to debate a package of legislation on the formation of provinces as it meets for a regular weekly session. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Education Minister Milan Zver and Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti are to attend a two-day meeting of the EU Education, Youth and Culture Council.

LEIPZIG, Germany - Minister of the Environment and Spatial Planning Janez Podobnik is to take part in a two-day unofficial meeting of EU ministers responsible for spatial planning.

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary inquiry commission looking into the purchase of Patria armoured personnel carriers is to convene a maiden session at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The parliament's Foreign Policy Committee is to hold a session at 8:30 AM. The agenda includes an agreement on defence cooperation with Montenegro.

LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the Slovakian parliament's committee on finance, budget and monetary policy is to meet Deputy Speaker Vasja Klavora (10:30 AM) and its kin committee in the Slovenian parliament (11 AM).

LJUBLJANA - The opposition Liberal Democrats' (LDS) Council is to hold a session at 5 PM to take a decision on a congress at which the party is to get a new president.

LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to receive the incoming ambassador of Yemen, Ahmed Alwan Mulhi Al-Alwani at 11 AM.

BLED - A two-day session of the regional World Tourism Organisation commission for Europe is to get under way. A press conference is scheduled for 10:45 AM.

LJUBLJANA - BTC, the operator of the biggest shopping district in Ljubljana, will hold the annual general meeting at 10 AM.

PORTOROZ - The Slovenian days of political sciences are to begin, focusing on the future of the EU. The event, which begins at 1:45 PM, runs until Saturday.

LJUBLJANA - The Desetnica Award for youth literature is to be conferred by the Slovenian Writers Association at 7 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Annual awards are to be conferred by the Slovenian Association of Ballet Artists at a ceremony at 8 PM.
