Ljubljana, 30 June - The week began with celebrations of Slovenia's statehood, as the country observed National Day. The main ceremony on the occasion was held on Sunday evening, although the pomp was overshadowed by the decision of President Janez Drnovsek to stay away because of disagreements with the government. In other news, Prime Minister Janez Jansa demanded a public apology from former Prime Minister Anton Rop because of claims that Jansa had planned border incidents with Croatian PM Ivo Sanader. Rop said he would not apologise.
