Global Mortgage Jitters Send Indices Plummeting

Ljubljana, 13 August - In a delayed reaction to the developments on world markets, Slovenian blue chips were hit by strong selling on Monday as investors here responded to the global mortgage crisis. The SBI 20 benchmark index fell 219.17 points (1.84%) to 11,718.90 and the SBI TOP index of the ten biggest blue chips was down 53.46 points (2.04%) to 2,566.16.
