The parliamentary crisis in Slovenia began with the crumbling of the former Demos coalition, continued through successive votes of no confidence, the election of Janez Drnovšek's Cabinet and the Assembly's failure to enact a package of laws regarded by the Government as essential to the realization of its economic programme. The final peak was reached recently when Deputy Prime Minister Rigelnik announced that the Government would carry through its aims - with or without the cooperation of Parliament, writes Ivan Puc in today's edition of Slovenec.
