Parliamentary Committee Satisfied With Work of Slovenian Delegation in Brussels
Ljubljana, 30 July - INHERITANCE/ASSEMBLY/COMMITTEE
At its session today, the Slovenian Parliamentary Committee for International Relations discussed the current state of affairs with regard to the legal inheritance of former Yugoslavia. The Committee concluded that the Slovenian delegation was operating "in a highly professional manner" entirely in keeping with the nation's interests. The Slovenian delegation participating in the work of the Arbitration Committee for the Succession of States working within the framework of the Peace Conference on Yugoslavia was also present at today's session, at which it informed the delegates that two underlying issues still need to be resolved prior to commencing the actual inheritance procedure, these being: the clash of opinions regarding the continuity of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the ascertainment of the assets of the former S.F.R.Y.
