In these times, in which the former Yugoslav federation is dying in the flames of war, it is perfectly clear that Slovenia's sovereignty can be protected only by strong border controls. Sadly, the once very free states of Europe are retreating to within their own confines and are beginning to introduce more stringent measures for entry. This can all be attributed to the war in the Balkans, wrote Marko Jenšterle in yesterday's Gorenjski glas.
