Government Passes Measures for Economic Reconstruction

Ljubljana, 5 August - During a session today, the Government passed a packet of short-term measures, which will be placed before the Assembly for debate. This packet rounds off the preparatory phase of economic reform and reconstruction, said Minister of Finance Mitja Gaspari at a press conference held today shortly after the session.
The measures include placing the bill on the state purchase of company's outstanding claims against Iraq and the former Federal Traffic Administration before the Assembly. The aim of this law is to offer assistance to those Slovenian companies which find themselves in financial difficulties owing to non-commercial outstanding claims against Iraq.
