Večer: Slovenia at a Discount?

Ljubljana, 6 August - PRESS/SLOVENIA/VEČER
More and more citizens of Slovenia are becoming upset by the fact that the Slovenian paper-making industry is already in foreign hands, that the Renault company from Novo Mesto is now in French hands, that the Zlatorog beer brewery in Maribor is now in German hands and that Slovenia's ironworks will in all likelihood soon be purchased by foreign capital, in spite of strong objections by the trade unions. "But why all the fuss?" asks the author of the article. You'd think by the behavior of some, that they had no idea what changing our society from a communist-socialist society back to a capitalist society would entail. Actually there are a multitude of people who would like to have things as they were again, except for the low wages, writes Nikola Šoštarič in today's Večer.
