Slovenia will be the country in focus at viennacontemporary 2019, the largest international art fair in Austria, which will take place in Vienna from 26 to 29 September.

Slovenia's youth organisations took the opportunity of International Youth Day on Monday to highlight housing as the key problem faced by new generations. They criticised a lack of action on the part of the government, saying the lacking housing policy, coupled with precarious and low-paying jobs, made it hard to become independent.

Perutnina Ptuj CEO Enver Šišić has dismissed speculation that the Slovenian poultry producer, owned by the Ukrainian MHP holding, would start using Ukrainian meat to sell it under the Perutnina Ptuj brand. He meanwhile sees opportunity for growth in exports, which means breeding will have to be stepped up.

Slovenian youths are mostly satisfied with their lives, and they are better educated than their parents. But financially, they still feel the effects of the economic crisis and their position on the labour market is much more precarious, show statistics released ahead of International Youth Day.
