SCHENGEN: Redundant Border Facilities Await New Use

Ljubljana, 27 November - All 81 crossings on the border with Austria, Italy and Hungary will be torn down once Slovenia joins the Schengen passport-free zone. The police officers working there will be transferred to other stations, some to units carrying out inland checks others to the border with Croatia, but the fate of the vacant buildings on the border is still largely unclear.
