Kučan's Speech Addressed to the Participants at the London Conference

Ljubljana, 26 August - KUČAN/CONFERENCE/LONDON
"We understand the initiative for the London Conference as an expression of the very serious concern of the government of the UK, the UN, and the international public about the culmination of the war and the ultimate horror it brings to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Furthermore, there is a realistic danger that the war could spread outside the borders of the ex-Yugoslavia," wrote the Slovenian president, Milan Kučan, in his speech prepared for the London Conference. However, Mr Kučan did not go to London, as was decided yesterday at the session of the Parliamentary Commission for International Affairs on the basis of the documents that arrived from Britain's capital. Slovenia's representative in London will be the foreign minister, Dr. Dimitrij Rupel.
