Slovenia was reproached for not being aggressive enough, for obediently taking the role of "Alpine Croats" during this critical period of inter-state relations. But this apparent inactivity is obviously to Slovenia's advantage. The Croatian policy of "creating an enemy whatever it costs," before and seldom after their elections, has lost some of its sharpness and necessity, says Mirko Lorenci.
