Slovenia is an "ideal candidate" for the Council of Europe

Ljubljana, 3 November - In concluding his official visit to Slovenia, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr. Miguel Angel Martinez, described Slovenia at today's press conference as an ideal candidate for membership in the Council of Europe. He also mentioned that he will use his good offices to ensure that Slovenia becomes a full member of the Council of Europe by May 1993 at the latest.
