Ljubljana, 11 January - Bill Clinton, who was sworn in yesterday as the 42nd president of the USA, is the first president who has not been programmed in the mould of the cold war. This will not make his presidential term any easier. On the contrary, his predecessors had to try their strength against a predictable opponent and had at their disposal "elaborate mechanisms", arsenals, star wars..., whereas Clinton will have to face unpredictable opponents and conflicts, in a world that no longer runs along the same tracks, writes Mitja Meršol in Topic of the Day.
