Croatia and Slovenia: The Gulf of Piran Incident Causes Agitation

Ljubljana, 12 January - There was cause for alarm in the Slovenian public yesterday as a result of the international incident that took place the day before yesterday and Saturday in the Gulf of Piran. The Slovenian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dimitrij Rupel, requested that the Slovenian Ambassador in Zagreb, Mr. Mitja Malešič, register an official protest at the Croatian Foreign Ministry. The MZZ press representative, Mr. Anton Rupnik, at yesterday's press conference stated that the Slovenian Ambassador in Zagreb had carried out the order.
