Delo: Neither left or right - both

Ljubljana, 22 January - Since such a grouping of political parties, which would normally be mutually exclusive, have decided for the first time to join forces in Slovenia, one could say that, through skilful combination, Janez Drnovek has succeeded in making a sort of historic agreement. He persuaded the parties to waive the ideological basis of their existence and operation, and to subordinate their individual party interests, at least as far as the executive body of the state is concerned, to matters of national importance, matters abused so often in the past, comments Marko Jakopec in the Theme of the Day.
