WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS FROM 25 TO 31 JANUARY

Ljubljana, 1 February - The most notable event of the week was the appointment by deputies of the National Assembly of 15 government ministers on Monday, 25 January. During the week the rehabilitation of Slovenian banks began, Ljubljanska Banka d.d. being the first to be tackled. Towards the end of the week promising news regarding the involvement of Slovenia in European integration processes came from Davos where the Minister of Finance declared at a press conference that Slovenia's full membership of EFTA can be expected before the end of this year.
