Speaker Rejects Croatia Referendum Initiative

Ljubljana, 18 January - Parliament Speaker France Cukjati threw out on Friday a proposal for a referendum on Croatia's EU accession, which had been put forward by the opposition National Party (SNS). Cukjati said the proposal was illegal.
