Potato Society to Erect Potato Sculpture
Ljubljana, 1 April - A society promoting a traditional Slovenian potato dish will erect a spud sculpture at an upcoming feast in the town of Sencur, some 25 kilometres north of Ljubljana. On 25 May, the town will thus honour the humble tuber, which has been a staple ever since it was introduced to the region in 1767 by Empress Maria Theresa.
