Idrija Lace Festival to Focus on Quicksilver Mining Heritage

Idrija, 20 June - The western Slovenian town of Idrija will host the 27th lace festival this weekend, starting on Friday evening. This year's festival will focus on the 500th anniversary of mercury mining in Idrija, and Environment Minister Janez Podobnik will open an information-research centre for mercury on Saturday.
