Birth Rate Climbs, but still Below Replacement Level

Ljubljana, 5 July - The number of children born in Slovenia reached a 15-year high of 19,832 in 2007, up 4.3% over the year before, but the birth rate, at 1.38 children per woman, is still well below replacement level, according to the Statistics Office.
