Public broadcaster journalists opt for token strike

Opposition tables more than two dozen bills on first day of new parliament

Klakočar Zupančič elected National Assembly speaker

Urška Klakočar Zupančič, a vice president of the Freedom Movement and former judge, was elected parliamentary speaker in a 55:25 vote on Friday in what is the first time Slovenia got a female speaker. She succeeds Igor Zorčič to become the 15th speaker of the National Assembly.
