Weekly Review of Movements in Slovene Economy from 27 to 31 March

Ljubljana, 2 April - Slovene government on Monday finally approved the proposed 1995 national budget amounting to SIT 510.4 billion (US$ 4.52 billion), now waiting for the final approval of the Parliament. The budget for 1995, as proposed by the government, calls for revenues of SIT 521.7 billion and anticipates a budget surplus in the amount of SIT 11.3 billion. For the repayment of debts (principals) SIT 41 billion will be needed, with these debts anticipated to be covered by the proposed budget surplus, by cutting the means on accounts and by raising loans in the amount of about SIT 12 billion. The budget expenditures in 1995 are to account for 21.4 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
