Slovene Press on Italian Regional Elections

Slovene daily Delo in its Tuesday commentary writes that on Sunday at least the leading Italian political parties got what they had before and what could be expected, taking into account their unskillfulness in provoking a governmental crisis in last December, and regarding the raging clashes between the parties about the date of early parliamentary elections. The players hold virtually the same cards in their hands, all the trumps have been distributed, everybody knows everything, however nobody wants to accept any differences in the rules of the game. The commentator stresses that if the Italian politicians do not start to deal with the essential issues there will for ever continue the so called "leopardism" which was defined by Lampedusa as: "Things have to be simplified to such an extent that they become even more complicated."
