EU Reaches Deal on Irish Lisbon Treaty Guarantees
Brussels, 19 June - The EU leaders have decided that the legal guarantees on Ireland's sovereignty issues will become a protocol to the Lisbon Treaty upon the signing of the next EU accession treaty. Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor noted that the decision was acceptable for Slovenia only because it did not explicitly mention any country or date.
