Slovene Press on Obstructions in Slovene Parliament

Ljubljana, 15 June - Slovene dailies Thursday devote their attention mainly to the obstruction in the Parliament by Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD) and a part of the opposition due to the bill on temporary moratorium on returning property back to the Church, except for sacral objects. The bill was proposed by Slovene National Party's (SNS) legislators. The moratorium is to be in force until a law handling legal status and other issues concerning religious groups is adopted. The bill aims to prevent the process of returning Slovene forests back to the Church until the state succeeds in managing the situation in a way that the level of state-ownership of forests will be at least similar to that in the majority of other European countries. The government disagreed but the Parliamentary Committee of interior and justice supported the bill.
