Govt Backs Amendments Preventing MPs Serving as Mayors

Ljubljana, 8 October - The government backed in its Thursday session amendments to the deputies act which are to prevent MPs from also serving as mayors and vice versa. The amendments were proposed by the four coalition parties. Prime Minister Borut Pahor told the press after the cabinet session that after general election in 2012 no deputy could also serve as mayor.
