Will Church Be Exempted from Denationalization?

The bill on temporary moratorium on returning property back to the Church and to other religious communities or orders except for sacral facilities was submitted to a rushed legislative procedure in the Parliament by the Slovene National Party (SNS) legislators Polonca Dobrajc and Zmago Jelinčič. The bill is designed to stop temporarily denationalization in the field. Since the Parliament was not in favour of the proposal to defeat the bill, which was made by the Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD) legislators, legislators of the SKD and the majority of the opposition decided for the obstruction of the legislative treatment of the bill. The Parliament was thus first obstructed on May 30 and after that six more times this week while trying to continue with the procedures concerning the bill.
