Draft Bill on Banking Sent to Parliament
Ljubljana, 30 June - SLOVENIA/LEGISLATION/BANKING
The Slovene government passed a draft bill on banking Thursday, and sent it to parliament, after four years of harmonization of the Slovene banking sector to Western European systems, and after two to three years of the process of rehabilitation. The draft bill combines the existing banking legislation, regulated by three bills - a bill on banks and savings banks, a bill on pre-rehabilitation, bankruptcy and liquidation of banks and savings banks, and a bill on Agency for Insurance of Deposits.
