Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 26 to 30 June

Ljubljana, 1 July - The Chamber of Economy of Slovenia conducted two important election in the past ten days. First it held elections throughout Slovenia Monday, 19 June, when economic subjects elected their representatives into the new executive boards of their branch associations and regional chambers, and 101 representatives into the Chamber of Economy of Slovenia (GZS) assembly. Second elections took place Thursday, 29 June, at the first, constitutive, session of the new GZS assembly. Members of the assembly chose between three contenders: Director of Belinka company, Marjan Cerar, the outgoing president of GZS, Dagmar Šuster, and the outgoing vice president of GZS Jožko Čuk. Jožko Čuk was elected new president of GZS for the next four-year term. Members of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia, which have been expressing dissatisfaction with heavily centralistic leadership of the Chamber for a long time, "voted for changes of GZS" by electing Čuk, as he stated after election.
