Awarding of Jožef Stefan Gold Medals

Ljubljana, 22 March - SLOVENIA/AWARDS/JOŽEF/STEFAN
At the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana this evening the first Jožef Stefan Gold Medal was awarded for the best and most significant doctorate in the field of natural science, mathematics, technical and related sciences. Recognition of their work was accepted by junior researchers Dr Igor Kononenko for a doctoral thesis on "Bayes neuron networks" and Dr Bojan Cestnik for the doctoral thesis "Assessing probability in automatic teaching." Their work has also enjoyed considerable international recognition.
