Director of VIS, Janez Sirše, Resigns

The Government, at a regular session today, passed the proposal that the national Security and Information Service (VIS) be renamed the Slovenian Intelligence and Security Bureau (SOVA). Janez Sirše, who was director of the VIS, tendered his resignation today, which the Government accepted without prior debate. Sirše also turned down the possibility of becoming director of SOVA.
