Biathlete Jakov Fak won silver in the men's 20-kilometre race on Thursday, the first medal for Slovenia at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and a career highlight for the 30-year-old.

Slovenia has made progress in the combat against human trafficking, but there is still much room for improvement in victim assistance, according to the 2017 report by the Council of Europe (CoE) Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA).

The senior coalition Modern Centre Party (SMC) will hold an election congress on 10 March as the term of the party president, Prime Minister Miro Cerar, expires in June, just as Slovenians will head to the polls to elect a new parliament.
