Slovenia Prepares Restrictions in Traffic Laws

Slovenia intends to modernize the entire road infrastructure in the following years and to build a comprehensive system of motorway connections by the year 2000. The state of the present road infrastructure is one of the factors for the number of accidents which is above the average in the developed European countries. Among the efforts for a better safety on Slovene roads is a bill on traffic laws which predicts substantial restrictions of the present traffic laws. The bill went through the first legislative treatment in Slovene Parliament last week.
