2009 Record Year for Newborns since Independence

Ljubljana, 10 July - Last year proved to be the year of the highest birth rate since Slovenia went independent in 1991, according to the Statistics Office. Of a total of 21,856 newborns, 11,309 were boys and 10,547 girls, which makes it 107 boys per 100 girls.
