Government Proposes 10,000 New Apartments Annually By Year 2000

Government experts believe that Slovenia can solve the housing problem by building about 10,000 new apartments Annually (5 apartments per 1,000 citizens), as stated in the National Housing Programme which is in the first-phase discussion in the Parliament. Such number was last recorded in 1987, while last year, after several years of continuing decrease in the number of new apartments, only 6,000 were built.
