Slovenians More Willing to Report Domestic Violence
Ljubljana, 22 August - Slovenian police registered a 40% increase in the number of reported cases of domestic violence in 2009. Police ascribe this to greater public awareness following the implementation of the act on the prevention of domestic violence in 2008 and several campaigns dedicated to the issue.
