Dr Mencinger on Exchange Rate Policy

Ljubljana, 29 August - Speaking about overrated tolar and "improper" exchange rate policy of the Bank of Slovenia, when also the Government calling on introduction of the so called neutral exchange rate policy joined the exporters' demands to increase the exchange rate to SIT 85 per one German mark to make the exchange rate follow inflation, dr. Jože Mencinger, a BS Council member, said in an interview in the latest issue of the weekly Mladina that the government's intervention was at least very unsuccessful.
