Review of Slovenian press

Ljubljana, 23 June - Today's dailies in Slovenia concentrate on the continuing parliamentary stalemate and the open letter addressed to the president of the republic by six politicians who played important roles in the struggle for independence - Igor Bavčar, Dr France Bučar, Jelko Kacin, Dr Dimitrij Rupel, Janez Janša and Lojze Peterle. In foreign affairs, there are still repercussions from the local elections in Italy and the summit meeting in Copenhagen. The daily press, under headlines like "Minorities left out of the dialogue" (Republika) and "Unenviable position of Slovenes in Italy" (Slovenec), commented on the visit of representatives of the Slovenian community in Italy to President Kučan.
