Cable Leak Shows Ex-FM Not Fully Servile to US

Ljubljana, 27 December - The newest leaked US cable involving Slovenia, published by daily Vecer on Monday, shows that former Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel refused to yield to pressure from the then US Ambassador to Slovenia Yousif Ghafari in the response to the 2008 Russia-Georgia armed conflict, remaining in support of a single voice of the EU.
