European Culture Capital Team Certain It Will Get EUR 1.5m EU Funds

Brussels, 27 April - Mitja Cander, the programme director of 2012 European Capital of Culture, expressed belief that Maribor will receive the EUR 1.5m Melina Mercouri prize, the only direct EU funding of Culture Capital project. The statement comes after Cander's team presented the project to the European Commission on Wednesday.
