Lojze Janko Appointed Minister Without Portfolio

On the proposal of Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek, Lojze Janko was appointed by secret ballot Minister Without Portfolio in the Slovenian government at a session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia today. A total of 75 National Assembly deputies took part in the voting which corresponded to the number of ballot papers handed in, two of which were invalid. Janko won 61 votes from the deputies.
