Last week began with the first serious difficulty in the dealings of the National Assembly, as three opposition groups of deputies created obstructions, due to the removal of the interpellation against the work of Minister of Justice, Miha Kozinc, from the agenda of the June session. In mid-week, the open letter of six prominent politicians was addressed to Slovenian President Milan Kučan, containing several accusations against him and the return of their Slovenian decorations. The week concluded with ceremonies held on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Slovenian state-hood. Yet the festive atmosphere did not succeed in overshadowing the events of the feverish week.
