MEPs Say Barroso's Speech Should Be Followed by Action

Strasbourg, 28 September - Slovenian MEPs welcomed in principle the state of the union speech by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso on Wednesday, especially his call for a joint European action and criticism of measures benefiting only national interests. They noted however that the words had to be followed up by action.
