Out Critic, Out Nihil - En exhibition featuring a part of Josip Vidmar's personal archives on the occasion of 100th anniversary of his birth

National and University Library (NUK) celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of "one of the most prominent Slovenes of the century," translator, literary and theater critic, politician and thinker Josip Vidmar (1895 - 1992) with an exhibition featuring a part of nearly 14.000 units of his personal archives - including personal documents, photographies, letters, books and other works, donated to NUK by the academemic's family a year after his death. The exhibition entitled "I am nothing if I am not a critic" - a thought Vidmar wrote in 1985, was opened by Slovene President Milan Kučan, who pointed out in his speech that Josip Vidmar was not only an exceptional personality, exerting a profound influence on our time but also a prudent statesman and tactful politician who reacted wih great sense whenever he felt Slovene nation was in danger.
