Kučan: No Basis for Unequal Treatment of Slovenia
Brussels, 29 November - SLOVENIA/EU/KUČAN
Slovenia has been affected by unequal treatment several times already as regards its acceptance in the European Union although there is no basis for that: neither in the results Slovenia has achieved on its challenging political and economic transition nor in the manner in which Slovenia exercised its right of self-determination nor in the fact that Slovenia that Slovenia is already an active member of several international organizations. Such a treatment is an example of the use of double standards contrary to the proclaimed principles and aims of the EU, Slovene President Milan Kučan stressed in his Wednesday's address to the Committee for Foreign Policy, Security and Defence of the European Parliament in Brussels.
