Slovenia Joined the EU Eight Years Ago

Ljubljana, 1 May - Slovenia joined the European Union alongside nine other, mostly Eastern European countries on 1 May eight years ago, in what was the bloc's biggest enlargement to date. Since then it has introduced the euro, joined the Schengen zone and chaired the European Council.
